DATE Saturday, August 4, 2012

TIME Doors open at 1pm. Doors close at 1am / Music from 1:30pm – 12:30am

LOCATION Zorthian Ranch, 3990 Fair Oaks Avenue, Altadena, CA 91001
Ranch contact: (626) 797-3359

FOOD AND AMENITIES There will be food trucks on the festival premises.  Food trucks will offer meals and soft beverages.  There will be a donation-based beer area as well.  The festival grounds will have port-a-potties.

PARKING All cars must check in at the Zorthian Ranch parking lot, which is located at the foot of the mountain. Upon arrival, follow signs and instructions from the parking crew. The parking lot opens at 12pm and closes at 2am. Do not park in the residential area near the ranch. Parking is permitted only in Folk Fest marked areas. Cooperation with parking procedures is essential.
PARK & WALK, BUT YOU CAN’T RIDE The Ranch is a 10 minute walk up the hill from the parking area. All guests must walk up unless they are physically unable to do so. In this case, the shuttle will take you up to the ranch. If Parking Lot #1 fills up, you will be directed to a secondary lot.

CARPOOL REWARD It’s cool to carpool, good for the environment and better parking. Cars with three or more passengers receive a cool carpool reward at the Parking Lot entrance.

BUS REWARD There’s a public bus (the 260) that takes you right up to the ranch. If you ride the bus, you will receive a reward! Get a receipt that proves this, or snap a photo of yourself at the bus drop-off near the ranch. Visit metro.net to figure out your route. Last bus comes around at 12:12am.

Last year we took 3 kids (9, 5, 4) and they had a great time. Bring a swimsuit, some sunscreen, chairs, and plenty of snacks and water.

We left as it was getting dark, because of the long walk back to the parking lot. All in all, a fantastic time. This year we are bringing them again (now 10, 6, 5)!
